County fairs -

Anne Arundel County Fair - starts Wed 9/12 - all next weekend

Tonight - 9/6 - 4th Annual Baltimore Taxidermy Open presented by the Walters Art Gallery and Bazaar, a Hampden shop specializing in natural history items and morbid gifts, this exhibit features works of alternative taxidermy as well as examples of taxidermy from the Walters’ collection.

Sat 9/8 - Columbia - Color Columbia - Plein Air Paint Out - Come out and check out artists painting outdoors around Lake Kittamaqundi and Wilde Lake in Columbia. You’re also invited to join the artists, with your family and friends. All supplies provided and some light instruction available.

Sat 9/8 - Frederick - In The Street Festival including Craft Beverage Experience - Spend the day enjoying nine blocks of fun children’s activities, local art organizations, four stages of entertainment, beer/wine gardens, local Frederick breweries and distilleries, live music and plenty of food.

Sat 9/8 - Chesapeake Beach and North Beach - in association with the Chesapeake Beach Oyster Cultivation Society and Chesapeake Beach Railway Trail, it’s their “Taste the Beaches” festival. There will be local restaurants, food trucks, beer and wine, a Kids Zone with The Chesapeake Mermaid, their Fish Mobile (a travelling aquarium with Chesapeake Bay inhabitants), a Birds of Prey exhibit, local vendors and live music.

Sat-Sun 9/8-9/9 - Check out the 51st Annual Maryland Seafood Festival at Sandy Point State Park - As always, it features music, contests, great food, their famous crab soup cook-off and much more.

Mon 9/10 - Crofton - 3D Print Design Class - Learn to use Tinkercad to design 3D models. Laptops provided to the first 20 attendees. Objects will be 3D printed after the event

Mon 9/10 - Eastport-Annapolis Neck - Star Party w/ Glenn Bock of the Goddard Space Center. Learn about constellations, star clusters and galaxies and view them through a telescope.

Tue 9/11 - Odenton - STEAM Tuesday - Many different STEAM activities to be enjoyed.

Wed 9/12 - Crofton - Nature Explorers Club - Get a close up look at a piece of your planet by joining the Nature Explorers Club, for ages 7-11

Tomorrow Fri 9/7 - between 9:30am and 12:30pm, Launch of the Apire 3 mission featuring a Black Brant IX suborbital rocket

Sun 9/9 - Analog Gaming Sunday featuring classic board and card games as well as some new favorites

Mon 9/10 - Project Night - come by and work on or show off your projects
