CNC Router Orientation & Safety

  • Saturday, February 04, 2023
  • 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • 2014 Renard Ct. Unit C Annapolis, MD 21401

Join us for a beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop to learn how to use the CNC Router!

Participants will gain insights on what types of projects a CNC router is used for, learn how to create a basic vector design and configure tool paths in either VCarve or Carbide Create software.  Then, that design will be used in a hands-on exercise with each participant preparing and mounting their material and operating the CNC router to cut their design.

This class is required for any makerspace members who do not have prior CNC machining experience prior to independently using the CNC router at the shop.

There are PCs available at the shop available for use with several software options for creating designs. If you plan to use your own laptop for creating designs, please bring it with you to class and you will have the option of installing design software using a Makerspace license.

This class is FREE for subscribing Annapolis Makerspace members, however space is limited so registration is required.  Please register for this class at https://www.meetup.com/annapolis-makerspace/

(Members with prior experience with CNC machine operation: please email hello@makeannapolis.org to schedule an abridged orientation to our CNC equipment in lieu of this class)
