    Sat 2/15 - College Park Aviation Museum - Join them for another Engineering 101 workshop where you’ll learn about navigation and geography and create your own paper plane gliders to test out on a course, celebrating Black History month by honoring Barrington Irving who was the youngest person to fly solo around the world in 2004 and the first black pilot to do so. He has since developed his own non-profit to help kids learn about aviation and careers in aviation.

    Tonight 2/6 - Londontown Gardens - Projectile Point Workshop: The Bob Ogle Collection - This free workshop is for volunteers interested in helping process the Bob Ogle collection which includes 13,000 years of Maryland artifacts, especially Native American projectile points and ceramics.

    Sat 2/8 - Londontown Gardens - Archaeology Lab Open House - Drop in on the AACo Archaeology Lab on the grounds of Historic London Town Gardens for a look into the past! Archaeologists and volunteers at the lab process, identify and catalog thousands of artifacts from local dig sites all year long. Learn about their current projects in AACo!

    Also on Saturday, check out their Saturday lecture series, LGBTQ+ History in Maryland - Saturday’s talk is “More Than Friends: The Queer Chesapeake in the 18th, 19th and 20th Centuries”.

    Tomorrow night 1/17 - Art Things - Teen Figure Drawing Night for ages 13+ - A guided figure drawing session that will teach teens to draw the human figure moving through one minute gesture drawings to learning to draw longer poses featuring a local cosplayer.     Sat 1/18 - College Park Aviation Museum - Engineering 101 workshop - Making foil boats! Explore buoyancy and use that knowledge to design boats, for ages 9 and up.

    Mon 1/20 - Alcohol Ink and Collage at Local By Design in Annapolis Mall - A fun art class where you lose yourself through the color and flow of inks and gain that control back through the design of collage. You will explore how the ink’s color expands as you paint with each dye, then cut it up and redesign your piece.

Participants who pass will be given a certificate of completion demonstrating basic knowledge of online propaganda operations. Chris is the security Chief of Research and has been involved in various operations to infiltrate extremist groups including ISIS, Al Qaeda, white supremacists and others and is also a Best Selling New York Times author of Hacking ISIS.

    RPi/Linux - Command Line Basics - You can do a lot with the graphical interface on a Raspberry Pi but usually you end up having to dig a little deeper to get the most out of it. There are a lot of great tutorials out there, which show you the bare minimum, but I want to go over how things really work so it’s not just following a recipe when you have to get your hands dirty with the command line.

    Today - Knits and Pieces off Bestgate Rd in Annapolis - First one of four Beginner Crochet Classes

    Sat - RASA Juice Shop and The Drifted Knot present Macrame Craftivity and Mimosas at RASA Juice Shop in Annapolis. Learn a couple basic macrame knots, makes some nice gifts and enjoy mimosas and snacks.

    Sat - Watkins Park (near Largo) - Trash to Treasure Green Craft Fair - Explore local crafters and artists who create treasures made from at least 50% recycled, organic, fair trade or sustainably-harvested materials.

    Already started and going on now through Sun 11/10 - Baltimore - Book Festival and Light City, combined this year. Previous two separate events, they’ve combined them this year. There’s food, drink, performances, light displays and, of course, books.


    MD STEM Festival is still going strong… it runs through this Sunday (November 10th) and there are events all over Maryland to check out. Head over to marylandstemfestival.org to find events near you!

    Both Sat and Sun (11/9-11/10) this weekend - Cloisonne Enameling Class - Cloisonné pieces are generally brightly colored with enamel that is in cells with thin wire around the edges of each cell. Cloisonné is used in art nouveau (1895-1910) pieces through mid-twentieth century pieces and on current pieces.
